I am a wee bit obsessed with crystals.
I just do everything with them and place them everywhere.
And this year in my life beyond Kundalini Yoga I have officially become a crystalline importer – meaning I now sell minerals.
Awesome, hand-picked, magnificent ones!
This obsession though has led me to grid my yoga mat almost everyday since… well… a long time… It was only natural.
I never researched it, never asked around about, never even thought about it. It just was what I did and that is all.
And as I meditated and practised this past year in Teacher Training I had many insights. One of them was that I knew without a doubt I would teach Crystal Infused Kundalini Yoga.
I set up my first Facebook Event Page for this first Crystal Infused Kundalini Yoga class, and you know what? I was shocked out of my pants (almost… I’m not wearing pants) when I typed in Yoga and Crystals to receive 4,650,000 results from the Google Machine!
Of course, I had to investigate – oh what a rabbit hole crystals are, and yoga, combined, well, oh man…
I looked through the first page of Google, and though I’m impressed there are so many results, not many are quality results. They each contain aspects of really great things, but aren’t just a full comprehensive view of my personal favourite practice.
So stay tuned! I’m excited now to write about this!
And if you’re in the Vancouver area I invite you to come to my first Crystal Infused Kundalini Yoga Class!
Do you ever use crystals in your yoga practice? Which ones? How?
Just like you, I’ve been thinking the same thing! I’ve been working on crystal hatha yoga, crystal restorative yoga and crystal self massage in my own practice for the past year. And came to Google (and arrived here) for the same reason. I’m so surprised that no one else is doing this work! I wish I were closer (I live in Montreal because I would definitely check out your Crystal Kundalini Yoga!
I most frequently use clear quartz points as a grid around the mat, different stones associated with the chakra being cleansed in different poses (like a rose quartz on the heart in Supta Baddha Konasana or a sodalite under my chin in Supported Sarvangasana). I also love holding a crystal in each palm during Savasana.
Haha! Wow! I am surprised too that more people aren’t doing this kind of work. I currently use a combination of crystals together inside my yoga practice. I have clients who use some of my gemstone elixirs, applying them before the practice. For gridding I use combinations from the Atlantean Crystal Healing I study and combinations that feel good. I haven’t yet used just quartz, and I haven’t yet held the crystals as I do the practice. I’m not sure it would work with Kundalini yoga, but I too love to hold a crystal in each palm in deep relaxation!
I wish we lived closer so we could compare notes. I would totally check out your classes too!
I used to practice Kundalini Yoga a few times a month and I remember a pose where we’d sit in Virasana, hold up our arms at a 60 degree angle and put our hands in a “thumbs up” shape with the fingers touching the pads of the knuckles while doing Kapalabhati breath for about three minutes. I wonder if a long thin crystal point could be tucked into the fingers of each hand? I know what you mean about Kundalini Yoga, there’s a lot of moving around, but if I think of other poses where you could do a crystal hold, I’ll write back! Your Atlantean Crystal Healing course sounds fascinating. Please keep blogging about your experiences!
Oooooo so true! I can see that in Ego Eradicator! Good point!
Please keep in touch! <3
